Self Wealth Management

Self Wealth Management is an affiliate of Wilde Wealth Management Group – December 2020.

Understanding our client’s personal and financial goals are critical to developing an appropriate portfolio, as well as establishing a healthy relationship.  This includes specifics around personal time horizon, risk tolerance, objectives and cash flow requirements.  These determine what Asset Allocation Model is best suited for the client.  In addition, it is important to discuss and understand the family dynamics which affect the long-term estate plans.

Self Wealth Management’s financial strategy which Michael K. Self developed, is based on years of experience, basic discipline, and a clear understanding of each client’s needs, goals and wishes.  Michael’s “Harvest” discipline among several other strategies sets him apart in asset management.

Investment Philosophy Statement

  • It is our belief that we do NOT add any value to our client’s by attempting to time the markets. Nor do we add any value by trying to trade individual stocks.
  • Based on your personal Time Horizon, Risk Tolerance, Objectives and Cash Flow requirements, we will select a particular Asset Allocation Model together.
  •  Once your portfolio is thoughtfully constructed, we will maintain the Asset and Sector Allocation by Quarterly “Harvesting” from each position.
  • These “Harvested” gains will go towards one of three purposes:
    • Reduce Debt
    • Meet Cash Flow Needs (Income to you.)
    • Provide cash reserves to reinvest in the future.
  • We subscribe to an “Deliberate Weighting” of the sectors within the S&P.
  • We also reserve the right to overweight specific sectors by 5% to 10% when conditions warrant.
  • We do NOT speculate by Investing borrowed money, concentrating positions, using options or futures.
  • We Invest (only) with an Absolute Minimum Time Horizon of 3 to 5 years.
  • We have complete Discretion when managing your portfolio. “Only one cook in the kitchen”.

All investing involves risk, including the possible loss of principal. There is no assurance that any investment strategy will be successful. Asset allocation, which is driven by complex mathematical models, cannot eliminate the risk of fluctuating prices and uncertain returns. The S&P 500 is a capitalization-weighted index of 500 stocks designed to measure performance of the broad domestic economy through changes in the aggregate market value of 500 stocks representing all major industries. Investors cannot invest directly in indexes. The performance of any index is not indicative of the performance of any investment and does not take into account the effects of inflation and the fees and expenses associated with investing.
