Gregory Hunter brings more than two decades of investment experience, deep market insight, and a strong track record of client-focused performance. Originally from Arkansas, Greg began his career at Edward Jones, where he earned firm-wide recognition as an award-winning advisor every year during his seven-year tenure. He went on to spend four years with Merrill Lynch before launching his own independent firm, Hunter Capital, in 2010.
As a longtime partner with First Allied (which merged with Cetera three years ago), Greg has consistently been recognized for excellence, earning Circle of Excellence* honors 13 times (2012-2024) and being named to the Pinnacle level on four occasions (2020-2024). His approach has always centered around building highly customized portfolios of individual stocks and bonds, with a strong emphasis on trust, transparency, and long-term client relationships.
In 2018, Greg began developing the Avalon Blue Chip Strategy, further deepening his commitment to quality-driven, research-backed investing. He partnered with Wilde Wealth in late 2024 and now serves as Co-Chief Investment Officer, continuing to build strategy and shape client outcomes through intelligent, disciplined portfolio design.
He oversees the development of formal investment strategies for advisors and their clients, incorporating systems that manage both fundamental and technical analysis aligned with investment objectives and performance targets. Greg creates fixed income models tailored to high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients and collaborates closely with Doug to integrate complementary strategies that enhance risk management and optimize performance across sub-portfolios and total portfolio structures to maximize returns. He also builds and maintains a comprehensive training platform for associates, focused on trading techniques, systems, and formulas.
His favorite ways to recharge include weightlifting, travel, spending time outdoors, and making memories with family.
